Who Do You Love More?
I KNOW you love your kids, you KNOW you love your kids, but sometimes your kids don’t KNOW you love them. Do you want to hear something really shocking? Sometimes your kids THINK you love school more than them.
Why? Because sometimes school becomes your priority.
“I know you don’t feel well, but we have to get some school in today.”
“No, we don’t have time to play (fill in your favorite game); we have to get some school done.”
“How could you have missed so many questions?”
“Why can’t you get this…it isn’t that hard!”
“What are you, dumb?”
“You can have a summer break when you get your school work done.”
You’ve forgotten that school is a tool, not the end, not the goal…not the main thing.
I’ll tell you how to show your kids that you love them…don’t let school take their place.
Make it your purpose to see your child as someone to enjoy during the day, not someone who is bound and determined to make school hard for you. Stop worrying about how much you get done and be thankful you get to spend another day with your children. Quit thinking more of what others think about you and your kids, and start doing what you know to be right.
…And take a summer vacation whether they get all their school work done or not!
Make school a distant seventh in the race for your affection, and your children WILL KNOW THAT YOU LOVE THEM more than anything.
That should make THEM smile!
